Take a tour around our site and see what all the hype is about; the worlds oldest and most prestigious racing series!

The 2016 racing year marks the remarkable 47th season of Midwest Series competition. The Midwest Series (MWS) tradition started in the summer of 1970 and today continues the same efforts that our founding racers established. Their vision was to create an organized racing atmosphere for RC car owners to battle face to face with others fairly but also to maintain the fun level. Over 40 years later, we still continue that heritage providing an entertaining racing atmosphere for RC racers at any age.

The MWS races most of the nitro classes available today. The most common classes running at our series are the 1/10 4wd Touring Cars utilizing .12 size nitro engines, 1/8 4wd Open which is the fastest of the the current classes running, 1/8 GT and 2wd PAN cars. In an effort to bring new racers into the series and provide fun for everyone interested in participating, we will be encouraging each facility to promote an exhibition class made up of a popular class that may not be currently included in our normal race program.

The 1/8 scale GT class started in 2008. These car are based on the 1/8 scale off-road buggy and modified to be an on-road entry level car which is intended to be an affordable and fun class.

The PAN car class was new for 2012 and the Midwest Series will allow the racers to dictate the rules and how they want the class to evolve. We hope this will be class that grows and provides another cost effective class for racers.
